Parse collects the following types of data to provide our media analysis services:
- Account Information: Email address, name (when you create an account)
- Analysis Data: Article URLs and content you submit for analysis
- Usage Data: API requests, credits consumed, analysis history
- Technical Data: IP address, browser type, device information (for security and rate limiting)
We never sell your personal data to third parties.
2. How We Use Your Data
- Provide article analysis and credibility scoring
- Manage your account and credit balance
- Improve our AI models and analysis quality (using anonymized data)
- Prevent abuse and ensure platform security
- Send service-related communications (if you opt-in)
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Retention
Article Analyses: Stored in your dashboard for 90 days, then automatically deleted.
Anonymous Analyses: Deleted after 24 hours (no account required).
Account Data: Retained until you delete your account or request data deletion.
You can delete individual analyses at any time from your dashboard.
4. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services to operate our platform:
- Authentication: Google OAuth stores minimal profile data (email, name)
- Payments: Stripe processes payments (we never see your card details)
- AI Models: Z.ai API receives article content for analysis (not used for training)
- Infrastructure: Railway hosts our application (US-based servers)
Important: Article content sent to Z.ai is NOT used to train their models. Your content remains confidential.
5. Cookies and Tracking
We use the following cookies:
- Essential Cookies: Required for authentication and session management (NextAuth)
- Security Cookies: CSRF tokens and session identifiers
We do NOT use:
- Advertising tracking cookies
- Third-party analytics (Google Analytics, etc.)
- Behavioral tracking pixels
- Facebook Pixel or similar marketing tools
You can manage cookie preferences in your browser settings, but disabling essential cookies will break login functionality.
6. Your GDPR Rights
Under GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right to Access: Request a copy of your personal data
- Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Right to Erasure: Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
